    Pigspert Opinons Needed

Ok all you Pigsperts of arcane aircraft knowledge:
What is the fastest accelerating prop plane from 150 to 250 in an extremely light configuration(min fuel, no ords or ammo) on the deck?

Need to pick a plane to race for the race following a C-47 race. Want to pick something that will recover from yanking it around a turn marker rapidly.

Spit16, La7, and K4 are your best bets.

Fastest acceleration is the tempest at 17.5 seconds 0-250, the Spit XVI is second at 18.2 seconds. The K-4 and LA-7 are just a few milli-seconds behind.
Here is a great site for this info:http://gonzoville.com/ahcharts/index.php

Just tested the K4, spit16, La7, and Tempest in the TA with Debrody...

The K4, and the Tempest were about equal 150-250.. the spit16 was a second slower. The La7 came in last by a bit.

Go with the K4 or spit16, the spit16 will get you around corners faster but it'll drain E quicker, and it's about a second slower at accelerating than the K4.

I tried it offline no fuel burn, no ammo, 25% fuel, light gun package, auto-level at 100', recorded 3 accelerations from 150-250 for each plane then used films to time it.

    Tempest 16.8 sec avg
Spitfire MK XIV 17.1 sec avg
Spitfire Mk XVI 17.1 sec avg
    La-7 17.4 sec avg
    BF 109K-4 17.7 sec avg
Spitfire MK VIII 18.2 sec avg
    P-38J 20.6 sec avg

The usual rogues gallery. I was hoping there was a surprise bird out there that accelerated (doh) at this very particular criteria. Thanks for your input.

Debrody and I did it 'race' style.. I also recorded times... the La7 lost the race to the K4 by 50m and was quite a bit slower in recorded time...

Thought about it, but right after a C-47 race I'd probably get lynched.
