So I've spent some of my deployment money on new stuff for Aces High

Alienware M18x laptop

CH Combatstick
CH throttle
to go with my CH pedals.....should be interesting to see what type of graphics I'll be able to run in game now.

Anyone know much about computers? Trying to figure out what I'm looking at for graphics.

I think with your laptop your vid card is fixed already, if you already bought it. Are you referring to what you should expect to see with your setup, or what kind of vid cards to get with your machine?

I looked up the specs - that's an awesome machine! It looks like you have four options available for graphics -

1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M Dual 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M
Various Dual cards SLI/CrossfireX setups.

The single GTX560 will handle anything AH can through at it. It really depends on what other games you play. The GTX560 will handle mose current games at 1920x1080, but you may have to turn down some of the details. I personally would stay away from the dual card setups, especially in a laptop.

junky do you gotta have a laptop? a desktop would be faster and better for less but of course you wont be able to move it around.

Make sure you invest or have a cooling pad for your laptop, them things often overheat if you use them for prolonged gaming, and a relatively cheap cooling pad solves an otherwise costly issue.

Sounds to me like he wants (and deserves, + a beer) both maybe? So he's got his spify new laptop, maybe he's just trying to upgrade some components in his desktop machine?

(PS - even if it's only a little, invest/save for retirement/rainy-days.)
