We were talking the other night about that p51 move on the 109. I found a couple sites that describe the maneuver.

I'm in mourning over what this movie COULD have been.
All the reviews I've read say that the combat footage rocks, but that the dialogue is laughably cliche and ham fisted.

Which bums me out. Because at 9 bucks a ticket, I want a good movie.
I'll probably hit it as a matinee, maybe today!

The combat scenes aren't even any good, it's completely biased too... only one American fighter pilot dies compared to 20+ Germans.

Having the Americans come out on top is fine and how it should be, but atleast make the numbers realistic...

    What did you expect?

Speilberg is not going to go against Politicly Corrected Black American history. They did pretty much the same thing with the HBO 1995 movie "The Tuskegee Airmen". In the face of the overall war their historic efforts were about average for all fronts.

A man fighting and dieing in a war is a man fighting and dieing in a war untill the historians get ahold of it and need to make a living in the current social climate.

The Civil War was not about slavery. The largest breeder of slaves in the south up to the war was a black businessman William Ellison of Charlston S.C.. His oldest grandson John Wilson Buckner served as an officer with the 1st South Carolina Artillery.

Political Correctness has not found a way yet to burn down sothern court houses to destroy the ownership records of black slave owners and the thousands of blacks who enilsted and served in the south's army. Politicaly correct historians have been trying to do that for over 100 years by peer pressure and lieing.

Speilburg is a product of his times and should stick to fantasy movies. He's really good at that except this one time.
