Horde Tactics: You F*** Up and You learn

Last night saw an angry Bishop Horde Jumping from objective to objective while I was on last night. The Pigs and a few friendlies repulsed 2 of the 3 major attacks that occurred, so I consider this a victory.

The one we lost is a lesson learned. Down in the SW corner of the map I saw a single F6F coming in to one of our airfields with their closest land base being over 5 sectors away. He took out the dar then was promptly killed by me in an LA7. When I realized that there must be a carrier out there, I went looking for it. I flew a zig-zag pattern for over a sector and half looking for it, and finally ran out of gas. Never found it, but I knew it was there somewhere. Another huge attack occurred up North on the Bishop front and I joined the Pigs in stopping their base take attempt. As soon as i got back on the ground I checked back at the previous field and their CV group was shelling our field with no uppers yet. I upped a B-25 to start hitting the carrier and no sooner than me and a few Pigs upped, a huge horde ups off the carrier. I mean horde. We killed a few of them but died quickly in the B-25's. Got into a Wirbel ang killed 6 more with USVI and Urself's help, but there was simply too many of them for 4-5 Pigs to fight head on. They took the field within 5-6 minutes of upping off the carrier.

Lesson learned from my fuckup is I knew the carrier was there, and I knew they were moving towards the field that they had knocked the dar on. I should have continued my search for the carrier, found it, and vectored the Pigs onto it with Eggs. So defeats are not always defeats, because next time I will find it and the Pigs will put it onto the bottom of the virtual ocean. Killl the hordes opportunites before it becomes an opportunity, and we force them into the Pigs style of fight.

You see what I am talking about though right? I could have kept them from getting a foothold, but got drug off task. Next time when this Pig smells blood, I'll hunt them until I get my fill and finish the job.

Can't sink every ship in the ocean Waystin. I think you and everyone did the best you could given the situation. I think you addressed the most pressing issue at the times that they presented themselves, only thing that may of made things go faster or more effeciently, thus allowing for more to of been done in the given time, would of been if all the pigs were already with you in your initial F6F encounter, or would of been if you and all the pigs were together when the rook horde defence operation kicked in, thus effectively knocking it down sooner. However, by that logic it is also highly possible that all the pigs would of been chasing a single F6F and toolsheding a carrier rather than fend off the rook horde, or all the pigs would of been engaged with the rook horde while a relatively small number of bish toolsheded and successfuly capped our base before any of us were the wiser.
