    Am I doing something wrong?

I went up and flew with Krup last week in the training arena to work on dogfighting. While talking to him he said half my problem was that I had the stall limiter on while I fly. I turned it off and could barely keep the plane in the air. I tried using the same moves I am used to doing but it would put the plane into a stall and lose control. The only way I could keep the power reigned in was to do slow, gradual turns but I know you cant fight like that. Did anyone else have this problem when they started flying with it off or could you really tell a difference?

If your used to the limiter then yes it will be hard when you turn it off. Have you done any stick scaling? With the limiter off you may be deflecting your control surfaces way to hard with very little stick movement. Scaling will help that.

When I first shut my stall limiter off it was at least two weeks of hell. I had a fellow who offered the following advice about moving your joystick and flight manuevers- "fast stick movements end up making you slow(stall), smooth movements make you fast". Take a look at how you are moving your stick. Are you jerking it hard in fast movements? I have always used smooth steady and a bit slower movements. I have no problem dogfighting like this and prefer this methodology as it keeps my E up at all times.

Buzzard..how would I alter the stick scaling to make it better....this stalling and spinning is ruining the game for me right now!

While in game you choose options/settings/map controllers. When that i oen you can see an advance box. Check that it will swing open some sliders where there is an enable scaling box. Highlight one of your control axis on the right, enable the scalng and adjust the sliders from there. Do a search on the BBS. Some folks have provided scaling files for various sticks to start from.

Is anyone else using the X52 setup? Any ideas on setting up scaling on those?

I use the X52 and I have very little if any scaling set. The only adjustment that I have made is setting deadbands and dampening the stick a bit. Deadband's are a small area at the beginning of all movements horizontal, vertical, diaganol, that is "dead". The dampening slows the input from the stock to the game. So if I move to fast, it keeps me from yanking the plane into a stall or getting the stop moving joystick so rapidly message. If I twitch a little with the stick in center position, it does not cause my plane or vehicle to change course. I found the whole stickscaling made the stick to mushy feeling for me.
