    Pony D & 190D Fighter Sweeps 72810 AAR

The Pigs ran two coordinated fighter sweeps in blue last night. Both against a Bishop horde.

Pony-6 We had 7 Pigs, 3 winged pairs, with Changeup as a queer floater in a K-4. Altitude before engaging was about 10-11,000 feet. We came in above the field under attack by the Bish and saw almost all of the cons to be lower. We immediately engaged in pairs and went to work. Within minutes the Bishop had high carrier planes well above us, and this one just went downhill in a hurry. I was covering Broknarrow as his wing, but within two minutes of starting combat had two F4U1D's come down on me and pull me off his six. He tried to roll over the top to assist, but he was already tied up with two of his own cons. I would love to have the other pilots thoughts on this:Sonic, Buzz, Ranger, Changeup, and I forget the others....

190D We had 5 Pigs in Dora's, no real pairing up done. Altitude at engagement was 15,000 feet. Our plan was to stay fast and rip through any planes trying to get to the field under attack. This went very well. All of us came home alive I believe, and the enemy attack was definitely disrupted by 5 Dora's inbetween the Bish carrier and closest Bish field. I managed to get an assist on DrBone(The Few DFC). He was semi-vulching over our airfield in a KI-84. Tried to go vertical but I had aton of smash and followed him up. He had to nose over after being hit by my guns, and I pushed him down into lower friendlies that finished the job. Someone hollers 262 inbound so I look in my deep six and there it is about 5.0k out and closing. So I go up roll over, and nose on with him. He offsets to my left so I am confident he will not accept or give a HO. I wait until he is about 1000 out, barrel rolled hard left, ruddeed hard left and threw cannon shells in his path. Took out his vert stab, bye-bye 262! It was Syotos (The Few DFC). After watching him hit the ground, I hear rather than see a plane coming ddown on my high six. I went into a large slow barrel roll then transitioned into flat scossors forcing the overshoot. He did it. Pony is now in front of me about 400 out, and I ripped into him. He starts vertical scissoring with me, so I timed a good roll for a shot line up and whammo! Pony down! Anyway, this was a very good fighter sweep on the Pigs part. Again, I would love to have observations from the other Pigs involved so we can see what we did right. Buzz, Sonic, Broknarrow, 1Wolf, RangerFL, Bentnail, and a few others....

these are just two examples that show fighter sweeps work! need to do more coordinated attacks....when we get four plus pigs on we should go out as a group(all take off together) wing up and we'll dominate the skies!! the more pigs that do this the better we'll get at it
