    WirbelWind Quick Tips

Here are my Wirbelwind Quick Tips:

    1) Shoot while you are driving, sitting still you are easy to locate and bomb.

    2) Page up your views in every direction inside the cupola and scan them regularly just like when you are in a plane.

    3) Use tracers to aim, not the gunsight. In time you will know where your shells will be hitting.

    4) If available try to keep a building, hill, mountainside or some obstacle really tight on one side of your Wirbel. This forces the enemy to come at you from a more limited area.

    5) Do not fire until you see the icon change to 1.5K-. Anything more than this and chances of getting hits on the con are really slim.

    6) If possible try to turn into the con you are firing at, as this protects your tracks from damage and steepens the cons dive if they want to keep firing at you.

    7) When being attacked by cons with bombs, listen for their bomb release and then break quick left or right about 35-45 degrees and run straight. You would be surprised how many times this can make someone miss their bomb drop.

    8) Bring your turret on target faster by turning the Wirbel at the same time you are turning the turret.

    9) When being chased by enemy armor, try to get laid up in a hidden spot with your engine off. Wait till they are point blank range and fire into the rear of the enemy vehicle as they pass you. If you do not have a rear shot then go for tracks and then run like hell.

    10) If you are working with two or more Wirbel's then space yourselves about 500-600 yards apart. This will give you mutual support for hard to kill planes like the IL-2 & A-20's. It will also give you maximum denial of airspace to the enemy by broadening the area of coverage with each Wirbel available.

    11) Think of the Wirbelwind as an Air Traffic Controller. Noone has a better views available of the airspace immediately around you than your flakker. Use this to coordinate and check 6 friendlies.

I will add more as I think of them...

I happen to like tracers off, because (to quote Saving Private Ryan) "Tracers point both ways.."

    Just my personal preference.

Supposedly tracers are only visible from the rear..or they are supposed to be. I take it the game doesnt model this accurately?

rule #1 is most important, keep moving.. drive into the wave of planes and zig zag while shooting, it may be hard at first but with practice its second nature now for me
