hello :pig: 's,

i was just wondering if anyone had ever tried fso(friday squad operations).

i did so once as a guest squad member for JG2 a while back and thought it was pretty awesome. basically huge historical fights, Axis vs Allies with about 150 players per team. this particular one that i was in was set in european theater, and we flew axis defending northern france from allied bobmers and fighter escorts who were coming in over the english channel. each squad was assigned to watch over a certain area.... twas fun.

i think those of you that haven't should give it a try by asking in the SEA to tag a long with a squad with open slots(you have to register a squad to join, asking to tag a long allows you to just try it withouth registering the squad), and maybe if the ya'll are intersted the POTW can do some:duel:

btw great flyin with you all, oink!

Hello Humes,

I would love to try this out sometime! I guess I will have to try to get more info for us. What is the register thing Rogent is talking about?

sup rogent & wastin,

well it goes like this...

if you want a new squad to particapate, you must register in order that they can send the flight plans and orders to the CO's. and also that way they might have an idea of the number of players that are going to attend, i think.

This is something I am very interested in doing. I like the idea of having specific orders for each squad. It is not about taking bases as much as hitting your targets. Points are awarded for items attacked, planes shot down and so on. Score will be tallied at the end of the night. Off the top of my head its a one to two life event so you die your pretty much out. You do have the option of gunning for a buddy when you go down so if you use up your planes early you can stick around. The registration process takes 1 to 3 weeks (pain in the ass) but it sounds like they try to keep it "organized." For this coming Friday I am going to try to get on an established squad and feel it out, anyone who wants to join in, we may be able to fill a couple slots on someones squad and be able to fly as pigs under another flag. If i read it correctly when a new squad gets registered, like us, we are responsible for filling 4-6 slots. With the option of an extra 2 if needed. So basically we would have to have at least 4 and as many as 8 committed to the operation. A CO and XO must do the registration and be responsible for getting the orders out to the squad members prior to the event. If this is something the Pigs are interested in I will be glad to help in any way to get us registered and in the loop. Happy hunting.
