I have a proposal. Based upon some experience gained in the DA last night with a few fellow pigs, I have found one thing to be evident. Many times, I am asked to "help teach" someone how to do air to air combat. I am mainly an instinctual pilot, fly by the seat of the pants, and was unable to teach anyone what I was doing. This has changed somewhat. Bustr, teached people to debried each other for a learning environment in RL. He applied that knowledge to myself and others in the DA lsat night, and enabled me to teach some of the methods I use to other pigs. He would be able to teach anyone to be able to do this, i swear! lol. Anyway, my proposal is this:

A POTW "Top Gun" school. Basically we would start with bustr as "moderator" and myself as one of the IPs. I can train only 1 or 2 people at a time. Once the person is trained, and up to the standards of the school, they become an IP as well, and pick up a student. In this way, we can exponentially grow our skill and knowledge of ACM. This. of course, would be strictly voluntary, noone would be required to attend, however, based upon my experience last night, it could be a valuable training aid.

Once we have pilots trained up individually, we can begin the same plan, but training in wing-pairs. This would allow for more effective tactics and allow our squad to truly dominate.

I will hold these sessions on Saturday afternoons, at 2pm Eastern time. This is on a 1st come 1st served basis, as I can train only 1 or 2 persons at a time. Bustr will be there to "organize" the training, for lack of a better term.

Please PM me if you wish to participate this coming saturday (a week from today).

I will prepare a syllabus for the training, and send it to those who I recieve PMs from. Don't worry if you do not get into the initial sessions, since many more will come in time, and the training of other IPs will allow this methodology to grow exponentially.

We WILL dominate the skies!

Get a mic first;) Ill help out a bit too, one thing to getting good after you do learn how to fight is to go into the RED and get ganged. One of the best things in ACM is to be able to reverse multiple people. Reverses are very easy against the average AH stick and honestly will work on the best once you learn how to time it right. I got some videos of me going 1v1 with muppets and reversing Scotch. I also got shooting films showing some pretty mean tatoring skillz which would maybe make you want to fly a K4:D

someone who can post films give me your email and ill send them:salute:

I was too quick to open it for registration. I am currently finishing up the syllabus, should be open to registration soon. Bugs is 1st on the list, with Waystin as well (way will be on hours not normally for this training, so he is not part of the "list" at this time.)

I will notify you when registration is opened up.

O........ok didn't even look at the date on it just assumed. Would love to have some 38 and 109 training, I fly the hog only right now.

Trouble w/109 is basically tator shooting can't hit anything even 200 out...waste to much ammo

38 just need to learn some tactics and how to fly it...

Always around, just say hey TnDep get your ass to the DA I'll be there :)

Agreed, I feel that learning how to fight Air combat starts in the DA doing 1v1s, and then taking it to 2v1s, etc... When dealing with multiple cons, it becomes all about reversals and snap shots, which is all just pracatice. As for JABO tricks, I'm very interested, Twichy, if you would like, take me to the TA some time. I can dive bomb alright but when it comes to angled/glide bombing with planes without a bomb site, I suck, so any help there would be greatly appreciated.

angled/level bombing in a heavy fighter is all about practice. you have to learn the sight picture in a given airplane for many different angles and altitudes. I can do it to no end, however, teaching it maybe a little tougher.

Best thing to do is to just practice.
